The broad patch of Calistoga that Larkmead Vineyards calls home has been under vine since the mid-1800s and has witnessed the turning of two centuries. In that time, Napa Valley has transformed from a vinous vestige of the Wild West to one of the most preeminent wine regions of the world. Larkmead played an active role in that swell, as their grapes have contributed to countless, celebrated Napa Valley wines across the decades. The estate has been in the hands of the Solari family since 1948, which has been critical to Larkmead’s success. This steadiness has allowed for the type of careful study that is necessary to truly unlock a vineyard’s potential. Since the beginning of their modern winemaking history in 1997, the family has relentlessly fine-tuned their viticultural and cellar techniques to express the vineyard’s voice most accurately.  Today, Larkmead’s stewardship is in its fourth generation of the family and remains a world-class winery and vineyard, offering a special place in Napa Valley for all to enjoy. 

The Larkmead wine collection includes five prominent labels and each wine presents distinct portraits of the large and varied estate. The Cabernet Sauvignon is assembled from a range of blocks, blending all of the many soil types and clonal selections together into a single complex whole. Firebelle is a traditional Bordeaux style blend, prominently featuring Merlot. Lillie is the illustrious Sauvignon Blanc, crafted in tiny quantities and aged in a variety of unique vessels for a truly distinct character. The flagship Larkmead wine is Solari, crafted from Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blocks that best capture the balance and purity of the estate vineyard.

Situated in the middle of the valley on Larkmead Lane, between the small towns of St. Helena and Calistoga, the Mayacamas and Vaca mountain ranges provide a dramatic backdrop for Larkmead guests.  Continuing a tradition of generous hospitality, visitors enjoy a guided tour of the property followed by a seated tasting in a private setting with sweeping views of estate vineyards. The composition of each tasting experience changes throughout the year based on the current availability within the portfolio. Tasting experiences are by appointment only, seven days a week.
