At the end of the road where Highway 29 meets the Silverado Trail in Calistoga, a motor lodge captures the spirit of a great American road trip. This lodging property, formerly the Sunburst Calistoga, has been officially reborn as Calistoga Motor Lodge & Spa. Newly remodeled, Calistoga Motor Lodge & Spa is the first hotel in the Napa Valley to offer air-stream concept-driven rooms, an interactive spa experience, and communal spaces as part of the unique property’s programming.

This retro ‘50s-style property features 50 contemporary and fresh rooms with luxe linens in hypo-allergenic materials. Junior suites have a motor-home-style seating and dining area that folds down into a sofa bed. All rooms feature Keurig coffeemakers, a mini-fridge, cable television, Wi-Fi, a mini-bar and custom “Moonacre Spa” toiletries.

Its geothermal-spring-fed mineral pools include a Jacuzzi and wading pool. Indeed, mineral water pools are part and parcel of the Calistoga experience, as the town was founded on its famous mud baths and geothermal-spring waters. The green tint of water in the pools is indicative of its healing minerals, as is the slight smell of sulfur. And speaking of mud, the newly remodeled Moonacre Spa will offer a “mix your own” mud bar, co-ed sauna, and other spa treatments that echo the benefits of bathhouses around the world.

This fun and whimsical property is also family and pet friendly, offering activities that include Hula Hoop competitions, bocce ball games and Frisbee tournaments. Or you can rent a bike and ride off to one of the many local wineries within a few blocks of the motel.

Calistoga Motor Lodge exudes the essence of the active, casual and fun California lifestyle. It’s definitely the place for those who opt for an “unbuttoned” Napa Valley experience at an approachable price point.

Come 2018, guests can look forward to a new restaurant on property, Fleetwood, currently under construction.
