Local community theater, Upstage Napa Valley, will hold its annual Play Read at the St. Helena Public Library  on Thursday, April 17 at 4:30 p.m. The event is free to the public and will include a wine-and-cheese reception before the reading. Donations are greatly appreciated.

Veteran UpStage actors Antonia Allegra and Jimmy Adams will read from “Wedding Duet,” a collection of short comedic plays by Eric Lane and Nina Shengold. “Wedding Duet” is set in a hotel after a wedding, with the groom carrying the bride to their room. But will they ever make it over the threshold? The Play Read will also feature scenes from “Third” by Wendy Wasserstein. “Third” will be performed in St. Helena later this spring.
