Donavan and Jacqi Almond, owners of Calistoga Fit, have been keeping Calistogan’s in tip-top shape since moving here from Atlanta, Georgia, in 2007 to work for Solage. After 6 years with the resort, they opened Calistoga Fit and currently employ four full-time staffers and have more than forty independent instructors on speed dial.
If you’ve never been to Calistoga Fit, let us tell you that it offers every possible class imaginable including spinning, boot camp, yoga, personal training, Pilates, barre as well as classes via Zoom. There is no shortage of options when it comes to fitness and wellness options under the Calistoga Fit roof!
As for as their at-home fitness rituals, Donavan keeps water by his bed and writes down his workout before starting. Jacqi focuses on skin care and noted that she makes sure to set meeting times for herself to workout. Her calendar must be jammed packed, as a few years ago Jacqi ran 13 half marathons in one year alone! She is also a volunteer firefighter in Calistoga, so not only does she keep the community fit, Jacqi helps keep it safe, too.
In their down time, the Almonds love to cook and while you certainly wouldn’t call them couch potatoes, they do enjoy watching a favorite television show or movie with their four (!) children. Visit Calistoga asked the Almonds what they love about Calistoga and what makes Calistoga different from other towns in the Napa Valley. “The soul of the town is that everyone is welcoming. Calistoga’s soul is in the soil, the people and the hospitality”, the Almonds told us. Great supporters of sustainability, Calistoga Fit recycles and focuses on digital marketing that leads the way over print. We ask all our members to share advice they would give to their younger selves. The Almonds advice? “Keep going, you are on the right path. By the way, it’s going to be hard work”. Visit Calistoga sure is happy the Almond’s path led them to Calistoga.
