10 Calistoga Hot Springs Resorts Where You Can Sip & Soak

Calistoga hospitality has been famous since the 1860s, when the first hot springs resort opened in town. Founder, Sam Brannan, had a vision of a geothermal getaway for wealthy San Franciscans. Today, Calistoga’s fame extends to both the wellness and wine worlds, with world-class cabernet, zinfandel and charbono grown here and relaxing hot springs mineral pools to be found at almost a dozen local establishments.

Here in Calistoga, we frequently like to combine wine and wellness, whether it’s in our grapeseed spa wraps or detoxing in a mud bath composed of the same volcanic ash that makes Calistoga AVA wine so unique (and award-winning!) Have your doubts? Trust us, though the two may seem contradictory at first glance, wine and wellness are old friends in Calistoga.

Combine wine and wellness for yourself into one luxurious experience at these resorts where you can sip wine and soak in the hot springs all at the same time:

Calistoga Motor Lodge and Spa: This retro resort features vintage trailer-inspired hotel rooms and three mineral pools to kick back in and relax. Float by on a flamingo floatie and sip a glass of our most refreshing vino.

Calistoga Spa Hot Springs: A stay at this resort is a classic Napa Valley experience. You can soak in any of four mineral pools, each of varying sizes and temperatures, and sip on a glass of your new favorite vintage. This resort allows outside food and beverages, (but no glassware), so pick up a bottle of wine while you’re out tasting for the day and bring it along for your evening swim!

Carlin’s Cottage CourtSip your wine at the pool at Carlin’s or indulge in private relaxation in the large mineral soaking tub in your own cottage suite!

Golden Haven Hot Springs Resort: Tucked on a quiet side street close to downtown Calistoga, Golden Haven’s indoor mineral pool is the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of vino and soak to your heart’s content.

Indian Springs Resort & Spa: The original resort in Calistoga, Indian Springs serves wine, beer and chilled drinks at the pool bar, so you’ll never lack for refreshment. The Main Pool is an Olympic-sized mineral pool built in 1913, while you’ll find peace and serenity at the quieter, more intimate Adult Pool.

Meadowlark Country House and Resort: Situated just outside of Calistoga on Petrified Forest Road, Meadowlark Country House is the most private of Calistoga’s hot springs resorts and the only adults-only resort in town. Relax in the mineral jacuzzi, amidst the natural landscape at the top of the Napa Valley – and don’t forget a nice, refreshing glass of your newfound favorite Calistoga wine!

Mount View Hotel & Spa: Channel your inner Hollywood starlet as you sip on a glass of Calistoga’s finest while soaking in the mineral jacuzzi at Mount View Hotel. This art deco treasure is located right in downtown Calistoga and offers relaxing spa treatments, poolside cabanas and fine dining, all steps from your luxurious hotel suite.

Roman Spa Hot Springs Resort: Take the waters indoors and out while visiting Roman Spa. Enjoy a nice glass of wine in the relaxing mineral pools while you float beneath the gently waving palm trees. Hotel guests also have access to use the onsite barbecues so sit back, relax and make an evening of it.

Solage, An Auberge Resort: Though Solage does not permit outside food and beverages, this resort offers something even better: wine, drink and food delivery directly to the pool area. A server will take your order and bring it right to you, poolside!

UpValley Inn & Hot Springs: This newly remodeled boutique hotel is conveniently located in Calistoga and includes a mineral pool and whirlpool to take the waters in, as well as a relaxing sauna and steam room. No glassware at the pool, but you can sip your AVA wines here throughout your stay.

As you can see, wine and wellness go hand in hand in Calistoga so be sure to schedule time to experience both during your visit!
