Whether it’s starting the day off early with a hot air balloon ride or an afternoon of wine tasting on a terrace, Calistoga is a perfect destination to celebrate Mother’s Day. And most wineries are open regular hours on Mother’s Day; some, such as Huge Bear Wines in downtown Calistoga, will have special treats to give to mom.
For traditionalists, many Calistoga restaurants will be hosting Mother’s Day brunches (some with live music) so be sure and book a reservation if mom doesn’t want to cook.
In need of a last minute gift? Check out the many unique shops (no department stores here!) where you can find anything from footwear to books. Most shops will be open regular hours on Mother’s Day. If you remain clueless after perusing Calistoga’s quaint shops, why not opt for a gift certificate for mom to receive a treatment at one of the area’s many spas. Mom is sure to appreciate some leisure time!
